Our whitening services
In-chair whitening
Fast treatment with instant results
In-chair whitening delivers fast, noticeable results in just one appointment. It’s ideal if you want an instant brightness boost before a special event or simply prefer everything done in one go.
During your visit, we apply a professional-strength whitening gel in stages, protecting your gums and carefully monitoring your results as we go. The process takes around two hours, and you’ll leave with a visibly whiter smile that continues to settle over the next few days.
In-chair whitening is ideal for:
-
Immediate results
-
One-visit convenience
-
Anyone wanting an instant brightness boost, especially for a special event
Results usually last six to twelve months and can be easily maintained with top-up treatments or regular hygiene cleans. It’s the perfect choice if you’d like a whiter smile straight away, without the need for a daily routine.
Take-home whitening kits
Whitening at your own pace
Take-home whitening offers flexibility and control, with professional results that build gradually over time. After we take impressions of your teeth, we’ll provide custom trays and a complete starter kit, including whitening gel, sensitive-care toothpaste, and instructions for safe use. We even offer different gels to choose from depending on your preferences.
You’ll wear your trays at home each day for a few weeks, with noticeable improvement as your treatment progresses. The strength and timing of your whitening can be adjusted to suit your comfort and sensitivity levels.
Take-home whitening is ideal for:
-
Gradual, controlled whitening
-
People with higher sensitivity
-
Those who prefer to whiten at home, at their own pace
It’s a gentle, effective option that fits easily into your routine and can be topped up every few months to keep your smile bright all year.
Professional whitening is one of the most effective ways to safely lift stains and brighten your smile. At Dentistry for Chickens, we use trusted, dentist-approved systems that deliver even results while protecting your enamel and reducing sensitivity.
How whitening works
Teeth whitening uses peroxide-based gels to gently break down stains within the enamel. When applied by trained professionals or through custom-fitted trays, these gels lighten the colour of your natural teeth without damaging the tooth surface. The result is a cleaner, brighter, and more balanced smile.
It can be tempting to try online or store-bought whitening kits, but these products often don’t deliver the results people expect. They usually contain weaker whitening ingredients and rely on one-size-fits-all trays or strips, which can cause patchy colour or uneven brightness. Some can even irritate your gums or increase tooth sensitivity if used incorrectly.
Professional whitening is safer, more predictable, and tailored to your needs. At Dentistry for Chickens, our treatments are carefully supervised by trained clinicians using dentist-grade whitening gels and custom-fitted trays. This ensures the gel is applied evenly across every tooth surface for consistent, long-lasting results.
Our products are also designed to minimise sensitivity while protecting your enamel. You’ll enjoy noticeable whitening that looks natural, feels comfortable, and is supported by ongoing advice from our experienced team.
In-chair whitening treatment
If you prefer same-day results, in-chair whitening delivers a visibly whiter smile in a single visit. The appointment takes about two to two-and-a-half hours.
After a hygiene clean (recommended for best results), we’ll protect your gums with a special barrier gel before applying a professional-strength whitening formula. The gel is left on for short intervals and refreshed throughout the appointment until your desired brightness is achieved.
You’ll leave with a noticeably whiter smile that continues to settle into its final shade over the next week. The effects typically last six to twelve months, and you can maintain them with regular hygiene cleans or an occasional take-home top-up.
Take-home whitening kit
Our take-home whitening kit gives you flexibility and control while achieving professional-level results. At your first visit, we’ll take impressions of your teeth to create custom trays that fit perfectly and ensure even gel application.
When your trays are ready, we’ll provide your complete starter pack. It includes:
-
Six professional whitening gel tubes
-
A case for your trays
-
Sensitive toothpaste
-
A soft toothbrush
-
A reusable toiletries bag
You’ll wear your trays each day for around 18 days, with results gradually building over time. We’ll guide you on which whitening formula suits you best based on your goals and sensitivity level.
Our whitening options include:
-
Fast-acting (9.5% Hydrogen Peroxide): Ideal for quick results, worn for 15–30 minutes per day. May cause mild sensitivity in some people.
-
Balanced (7.5% Hydrogen Peroxide): Offers steady, reliable results with moderate wear time (30–45 minutes per day.
-
Sensitive (10% Carbamide Peroxide): Gentle on enamel, with the lowest risk of sensitivity. Worn for two hours or overnight for gradual whitening.
Each formula delivers safe, consistent results, so you can choose the option that fits comfortably into your daily routine.
Keeping your smile bright
Whitening gives you an instant confidence boost, but maintaining your results takes a little ongoing care. Over time, teeth naturally absorb pigments from food and drink, so a good maintenance routine helps you keep that fresh, bright look for longer.
To protect your results:
-
Avoid smoking or vaping, especially in the first few days after treatment
-
Minimise dark-coloured foods and drinks like coffee, tea, and red wine
-
Use a straw for coloured drinks to reduce contact with your teeth
-
Rinse or brush after meals whenever possible
-
Schedule a professional hygiene clean every six months
A clean surface helps whitening gels work more evenly and keeps discolouration from returning. With the right care, your brighter smile can last well beyond your initial treatment.
Getting started
Whitening can often be combined with your regular dental visit. Whether you prefer a single-visit in-chair treatment or a gradual take-home approach, our team will help you choose the best option for your smile.
